This Privacy Policy explains how GeoScan AI ("App", "we", "us", or "our"), developed by kreggscode, collects, uses, discloses, and safeguards your information when you use our mobile application.

1.1 Camera and Photo Data

GeoScan AI requires camera access to provide its core functionality:

  • Rock/Fossil Images: Photos you take of rocks and fossils for AI identification
  • Collection Photos: Images saved to your personal collection
  • Scan History: Previous scans and identification results

Important: Your images are processed by our AI to provide identification results. We do not sell your images or use them for advertising purposes.

1.2 Location Data

GeoScan AI may collect location data if you enable location tagging:

  • GPS Coordinates: Location where a rock/fossil was found
  • Location History: Map of where you've found specimens

Location data is optional and only collected with your explicit permission.

1.3 Account Information

  • Email address (for account authentication)
  • Profile preferences and settings
  • Subscription status

1.4 Automatically Collected Information

  • Device type and operating system
  • App usage analytics
  • Crash reports and error logs

3. Third-Party Services

3.1 Supabase

3.3 AI Service (OpenAI/Google)

Powers the rock and fossil identification. Images are processed to generate results.

4. Data Storage and Security

  • All data encrypted in transit and at rest
  • Industry-standard security practices
  • Access restricted to authorized personnel

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained while your account is active. Delete your collection or account by contacting kregg@kreggscode.pro.

6. Your Rights

  • Access: Request a copy of your data
  • Correction: Update inaccurate information
  • Deletion: Delete your account and data
  • Location: Disable location tracking at any time

7. Children's Privacy

GeoScan AI is suitable for educational use but is not directed at children under 13 without parental supervision. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
